Ring, Bangle & Bracelet Size Guide — Measure at Home | Miraura
Are you unsure about your ring, bangle, or bracelet size but can't make it to the jeweler? Miraura's complete size guide is here to help! Use our easy at-home methods and Indian standard size charts to find your perfect fit — before you order.
Part 1: Ring Size
How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
Use any of these three methods to find your ring circumference or diameter in millimeters, then match it to our chart below.
1. The Paper Strip or String Method
This is the most common way to measure your finger's circumference.
Wrap: Take a thin strip of non-stretchy paper and wrap it snugly around the base of your finger.
Mark: Use a pen to mark the exact point where the paper overlaps.
Measure: Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimeters (mm).
Check the Chart: Match this measurement to the circumference column in our chart below.
Tip: Avoid using stretchy string as it can give an inaccurate (smaller) reading. Non-stretchy paper is more reliable.
2. The Existing Ring Method
If you already own a ring that fits perfectly, measure its inner diameter.
Place: Lay your ring flat on a ruler.
Measure: Measure the distance across the inside of the circle from one edge to the other. Do not include the metal band.
Match: Use the diameter column in our chart to find your Indian or US size.
3. The Caliper Method (Most Precise)
For technical accuracy, use a digital caliper available at any hardware store.
Zero Out: Close the jaws to ensure the reading starts at zero.
Outside Diameter: Measure the total outer width of the ring.
Band Thickness: Measure the thickness of the metal band on one side.
Calculate: Inner Diameter = Outside Diameter − (2 × Band Thickness)

Ring Sizing Tips
Between sizes? Always size up. A slightly loose ring is safer and more comfortable than one that restricts blood flow.
How tight should it be? It should slide over your knuckle with slight friction and sit comfortably at the base without spinning freely.
Left vs. right hand? Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger. Always measure the specific finger on the hand you'll wear the ring on.
Wide bands? For bands 5mm or wider, order half a size larger as they feel tighter on the finger.
Large knuckles? Measure both the knuckle and the base of the finger, then choose a size midway between the two.
Part 2: Bangle Size
How to Measure Your Bangle Size at Home
Indian bangle sizes are based on the inner diameter of the bangle in inches, expressed as a fraction (e.g., 2/6 = 2 and 6/16 inches). Here's how to measure at home:
Bring your fingers together: Hold your hand with all four fingers pressed together and your thumb tucked in — this is the narrowest point your hand can make to slip a bangle on.
Wrap a paper strip: Wrap a non-stretchy paper strip around the widest part of this "cone" shape (just below the knuckles).
Mark & measure: Mark where it overlaps and measure the length in mm. This is your hand circumference.
Calculate diameter: Divide the circumference by 3.14 (π) to get your inner diameter in mm, then convert to inches.
Match to chart: Find your Indian bangle size below.
Tip: Measure in the evening when your hands are slightly larger due to warmth. If between sizes, size up for comfort.
📊 Indian Bangle Size Chart
| Indian Bangle Size | Inner Diameter (mm) | Inner Diameter (inches) | Wrist / Hand Type |
| 2/2 | 48 mm | 1.88" | Very Petite / Child |
| 2/4 | 51 mm | 2.00" | Petite / Slim |
| 2/6 | 54 mm | 2.13" | Small / Regular |
| 2/8 | 57 mm | 2.25" | Regular / Medium |
| 2/10 | 60 mm | 2.38" | Medium / Full |
| 2/12 | 64 mm | 2.50" | Full / Large |
| 2/14 | 67 mm | 2.63" | Large / Plus |
Most Indian women wear sizes between 2/6 and 2/10. Size 2/8 is the most common.
Part 3: Bracelet Size
How to Measure Your Bracelet Size at Home
Unlike bangles, bracelets have a clasp and are sized by their total length rather than diameter. Here's how to measure:
Use a flexible tape or paper strip: Wrap it around your wrist just below the wrist bone, where you'd naturally wear a bracelet.
Note the circumference: This is your wrist measurement in cm or inches.
Add ease: Add 1–1.5 cm for a comfortable fit, or 2 cm for a looser, relaxed style.
Match to chart: Find your bracelet length below.
Tip: For link bracelets and chain styles, a snug fit with 1 cm ease is ideal. For cuff-style bracelets, measure the inner circumference of the cuff itself.
📊 Bracelet Size Chart
| Size | Wrist Circumference | Bracelet Length (with ease) | Fit Type |
| XS / Small | 13–15 cm (5.1"–5.9") | 16–17 cm | Snug / Petite |
| Small / Medium | 15–16.5 cm (5.9"–6.5") | 17–18 cm | Regular Fit |
| Medium | 16.5–18 cm (6.5"–7.1") | 18–19 cm | Standard / Most Common |
| Large | 18–19.5 cm (7.1"–7.7") | 19–20 cm | Relaxed Fit |
| XL | 19.5 cm+ (7.7"+) | 20–21 cm | Loose / Plus |
Most Indian women have a wrist circumference of 15–17 cm, making Medium the most common bracelet size.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What if my ring measurement falls between two sizes?
If you are between sizes, always size up. A ring that is slightly loose is far more comfortable and safer than one that restricts blood flow.
Q: Can I use a piece of string to measure?
You can, but be careful — string can stretch, giving an inaccurate (smaller) reading. A thin strip of non-stretchy paper or a flexible measuring tape is more reliable.
Q: Does the size of my left hand differ from my right?
Yes, often! Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger. Always measure the specific finger on the hand where you plan to wear the ring.
Q: Does a wider ring band require a different size?
Yes. Wide bands (5mm or more) feel tighter as they cover more surface area. Order half a size larger for wide-style rings.
Q: My knuckles are quite large — which size should I choose?
Measure both the knuckle and the base of the finger. Choose a size midway between the two so the ring can slide on but won't be too loose once in place.
Q: What is the most common bangle size in India?
Size 2/8 (57mm inner diameter) is the most commonly worn bangle size among Indian women, followed by 2/6 and 2/10.
Q: How do I know if a bracelet will fit?
Measure your wrist circumference and add 1–1.5 cm for a comfortable everyday fit. If you prefer a looser, stacked look, add 2 cm.
